NOVA Entertainment announces stacked lineup for Nova’s Red Room ARIA Week
NOVA Entertainment has announced a massive live music series: Nova’s Red Room ARIA Week.
The series of shows will celebrate the Aussie music industry in the leadup to the 2018 ARIA Awards, with performances by Keith Urban, Amy Shark, Vance Joy and Vera Blue.
All four shows will go down at Sydney’s The Lansdowne, and listeners will have the chance to attend the shows by tuning into Fitzy & Wippa, and Kate, Tim & Marty from Monday, November 5.
Radio Today also spoke with NE’s music marketing director Claire Marshall about the history of the Red Room and how its ARIA Week came about.

Ben & Liam pimp out Ben’s old car on Coffs Harbour road trip
Ben and Liam took their triple j Breakfast show on the road this week, driving Ben’s old car all the way to Coffs Harbour to deliver to listener Karli.
The car wasn’t in the best of shape to start with, left over from Ben’s dairy farming days, and it was nearly out of rego.
But with the help of some listeners and singer-songwriter Jack River – the boys pimped out the car with a spoiler, racing stripes, flames, fluffy dice, zebra print seat covers, and named it the ‘Skid Pig’.

Pauline Hanson wants Kyle Sandilands to join One Nation
Pauline Hanson arrived at KIIS 106.5 this week to make an exclusive announcement about One Nation.
But Jackie O and Beau Ryan (filling in for Kyle) were disappointed to discover that it was the same news that had been circulating media outlets — that Mark Latham was going to run for her political party in NSW.
“Can you give us some exclusive today?” Beau said. “Something that’s going to happen or something that we need to do?”
“Maybe Kyle’s holding it until tomorrow that he might put up his hand as a candidate for One Nation,” she said.
Irene Hulme appointed head of music for Hit & Triple M
Irene Hulme has been promoted to a new position within Southern Cross Austereo, assuming the role of head of music for Hit Network & Triple M.
Hulme will now be in charge of music strategy for the entire of SCA, with her new role to encompass the Triple M network as well her previous duties with Hit.
“I couldn’t be happier as I’ve always been extremely passionate about both brands,” Hulme told Radio Today.
The move comes as SCA announces a new initiative called the SCA Music Hub, which is set to consolidate several roles within the business.
“We’ve also announced a new initiative for the Network, the SCA Music Hub, a consolidation of our music specialists,” said Hulme.
Kyle & Jackie O executive producer Bruno Bouchet leaves KIIS 106.5
Bruno Bouchet won’t return to The Kyle and Jackie O Show in 2019.
“After two years as executive producer on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Bruno’s contract has come to an end and he’s chosen not to renew it,” said a spokesperson for ARN.
“Breakfast radio hours are intense and after two years of 2am alarms and long days, he’s trading that in to spend more time with his young family and is moving on to a new role outside of radio.”
His departure comes just a few short weeks after accepting the ACRA for Best Show (Metro FM) on behalf of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson who were not in attendance.
