Queensland Music Awards announce the full list of 2021 nominees

We are excited to announce that the annual Queensland Music Awards (QMAs) are revealing their 2021 finalists, as well as the nominees for the publicly voted People’s Choice Awards.

Since its inception in 2006, the ceremony has seen over 13,000 songs submitted, allowing them to both uncover emerging talent as well as pay recognition to the legendary. Not only does the awards ceremony celebrate the amazing contemporary artists of the moment, they also celebrate the places that make the industry so great.

QMusic CEO Angela Samut says, “The Queensland Music Awards have become an important date in the calendar for our music community and despite the hardship of the last twelve months, our artists have proven that they are among the best in the world.”

“We had a vast number of exceptional submissions in every category, more than any previous year. Our judges certainly haven’t had an easy job narrowing it down, but we are thrilled to present such a remarkable group of talented finalists.”

“The creativity emanating from our state is both exciting and inspiring and I’m proud that the QMAs can be the place for Queensland to celebrate our musicians’ success.” 

This year the institution saw a record number of artist submissions from all across the state, with the submissions being nothing short of both impressive and extensive.

By no easy feat at all, a list of finalists has been made, highlighting emerging, as well as established artists from the thriving and diverse communities of music in Queensland. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday 5th of May at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall. Tickets on sale soon.
