QLD Music Awards: Album of the Year shortlist, People’s Choice finalists
QMusic, which organises the Queensland Music Awards, announced the six shortlisted albums from a list nominated by music industry executives.

Last Dinosaurs (pictured) – Wellness
Robert Forster – Songs To Play
The Stress of Leisure – Achievement
Troy Cassar-Daley – Freedom Ride
Voting has also opened for the Bank of Queensland’s People’s Choice Awards. There are three new categories – Most Promising Male, Most Promising Female and Most Promising Songwriting Team.
Eighteen emerging acts are in the running for prizes worth $4000, courtesy of the bank.
“Music is one of the things that makes Queensland a great place to live and we’re proud to be supporting our young and emerging musicians,” said Greg Pink, Head of Business Banking, at the Bank of Queensland. “These BOQ Most Promising Awards give our future stars the start they need.”
Voting at the Queensland Music Awards website (queenslandmusicawards.com.au) ends until midnight March 7. The public can hear each track before they make their choice, and all voters will go into the draw to win a double pass to the Queensland Music Awards ceremony at Brisbane Powerhouse in New Farm on Monday March 21.

The 2016 Queensland Music Awards are presented by Hutchinson Builders and Bank of Queensland, organised by QMusic and supported by APRA AMCOS. There are 24 categories through the night. Performers already announced are The Belligerents, Ayla, Astro Travellers, Amy Shark and Standby Empire.
