Kylie Minogue joins NOVA for new Christmas streaming station

Kylie Minogue joins NOVA for new Christmas streaming station

Kylie Minogue is the host of a new Christmas streaming station, aptly titled Kylie Christmas.

In a move that NOVA Entertainment describes as an “Australian first”, the station will also serve as a competitor to ARN and iHeartRadio’s Elf Radio, which arrived a month ahead of schedule this year, as well as Southern Cross Austereo’s Santa Radio.

The station, which is live now and on air until Christmas Day, will air Christmas classics, featuring artists like Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and beyond.

“We didn’t just want to provide a playlist of Christmas tunes, rather we wanted to create something special,” Peter Clay, head of programming at Nova 969 and smooth Network, said.

“Kylie has previously hosted her own show on smooth and has also appeared as a guest on Nova many times, we were thrilled Kylie agreed to host her very own streaming radio station.”

The announcement comes shortly after Minogue herself revealed she will be moving back to her home of Melbourne, after living in London for the past two decades.

In early December, Minogue will be inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame, along with late community radio broadcaster Pierre Baroni.
