Nick Woollard joins Songtradr’s growing team
Songtradr has hired music licensing expert Nick Woollard in a new global sales role.
Woollard will be joining the company as its senior vice president of global platform sales, leading its subscription business. Woollard brings more than a decade of experience and was previously working with the Audio Network team overseeing global sales and operations.
In a statement, Woollard said he “couldn’t be more excited” to join the team.
“What stands out immediately is their artist-first approach and desire to build a vertically integrated music ecosystem,” he said.
“Songtradr has already proven itself as an innovative and disruptive business and continues to invest in creating an ever-improving user experience for both buyers and suppliers of music.”
Songtradr completed a US $30 million Series C funding round earlier this year, after sharing plans back in July to expand globally. Speaking to TMN at the time, Songtradr CEO Paul Wiltshire said he predicted a rise from the 3,500 Aussie artists currently using the platform.
“Australia is so close to our heart and we’d certainly like to see Songtradr making a positive impact there. It’s been predominantly organic growth so far and now we’re applying more local resources, we expect to open up a lot of opportunities for local artists,” he said.
Songtradr’s new hire in Woollard follows other recent additions to the company, including David Sayer as director of premium music (Australia) and Jennie Ingram as vice president of business and legal affairs.
