Niall Horan and Nick Cave set for top ten debuts
It’s shaping up to be a fairly uneventful week on the ARIA charts, with no real splashes from new entries, nor noteworthy surges up either chart.
The only probable top ten debut on the Albums Chart comes in the form of Lovely Creatures – The Best Of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (1984 – 2014) – the content of which doesn’t really need further explanation.
The top 20 will see an influx of new releases, however, with At The Drive-In’s new record In.ter.a.li.a, Logic’s Everybody, Kasabian’s For Crying Out Loud, country darling Chris Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume 1, and Blondie’s Pollinator all expected to debut somewhere in the teens.
New albums from Mac De Marco, Asgeir, Motionless In White, Pond, and San Cisco should all debut in the top 30.
The only new single likely to make an impact on the ARIA Singles Chart is One Direction’s Niall Horan, whose ‘Slow Hands’ will debut in the top ten; it will be the least successful of the 1D solo singles to date.
Other than that, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Galway Girl’ may shuffle up a spot to #3, and ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber should hit the top 5. That’s two Bieber songs, and two Sheeran songs in the top 5. Thank God for Kendrick…
