Kobie Dee Launches Twenny47 Records With BAM as Distribution Partner (EXCLUSIVE)

Kobie Dee is stepping into the label business with the launch of Twenny47 Records, partnering with Briggs’ Bad Apples Music (BAM) for distribution, The Music Network can exclusively reveal. 

The move marks a new chapter in the Gomeroi rapper's relationship with BAM, seven years after Briggs first signed him to the label as an artist. 

Twenny47 Records has grown out of Dee’s Twenny47 Studios, his community-focused space centred around music, arts and cultural workshops. The new label with similarly focus on creating opportunities for emerging artists, with its first signings and further announcements expected in the coming week.

“I’ve always known I’d start my own label eventually. It was always an end goal for me though and not something I saw coming so early on in my career,” Dee said. 

“Being signed to BAM definitely inspired me to even think of doing something like this in the first place. From the moment I saw Briggs had started BAM, I knew that’s where I wanted to be. He showed me that we could exist in the industry not only as artists but also as label owners.”

Briggs said: “BAM supports artists supporting artists. That mindset in creating a pathway is what our community has been built on. Kobie’s step in this direction with Twenny47 is a showcase of his growth, maturity and entrepreneurship. I look forward to what new artists he brings to the fore!”

Dee has steadily built his profile since joining BAM, supporting international acts including Dave and Joey Bada$$, and appearing at festivals including Listen Out, Yabun Festival, BASSINTHEGRASS, and Lunar Electric Festival.

His 2024 EP Chapter 26 earned a nomination for Best Hip Hop/Rap Release at the ARIA Awards, while the project was also shortlisted for the inaugural NSW Music Prize in 2025. Its lead single, “Warriors & Storytellers”, was used as an official track across the AFL and NRL’s Indigenous rounds. 

Dee has also achieved Gold accreditation for singles “Jody” and “About A Girl”, while more recently, “Aim for the Stars” was tapped as the official track of the A-League finals series and performed by Dee at this year’s grand final.
