ARIA Charts: Julia Jacklin's 'The Gem' Goes to No. 1

Julia Jacklin has scored a big debut with her latest album, The Gem.

The local singer-songwriter's fourth album has debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Albums and Vinyl charts, as well as No. 5 on the main Albums list.

The chart results follow Don’t Let The Kids Win, which peaked at No. 42 in 2016, Crushing, which came in at No. 8 in 2019, and Pre Pleasure, which debuted at No. 2 in 2022.

Meanwhile, on the back of The Encore edition of Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl released last week, the US superstar's record has shot back to top spot on the main Albums chart.

Other album debuts this week include Nessa Barret's Tough Love (No. 7), Nothing But Thieves' Stray Dogs (No. 9), Tinashe's Popular (No. 10), Leon Bridges’ Happiness Anytime (No. 12), Shannon Noll's The Road in Front of Me (No. 14), and Melbourne-based New Zealand heavy rock band Banks Arcade’s Second Place Superstar (No. 26).

Over on the Singles chart, Swift's new track “Patient Zero” has pushed Ella Langley's “Choosin' Texas” down to No. 2, while her other three new singles make up the top five.
