New naming rights partner rebrands Allphones Arena

PRESS RELEASE:

Allphones Arena, Australia’s premier entertainment venue located in Sydney’s Olympic Park precinct has undergone an exciting name change.

From today, the venue will be known as ‘Qudos Bank Arena’.

The announcement was made jointly today by Steve Hevern, the venue General Manager and Scott King, the Chief Executive Officer of Qudos Bank.

Mr. Hevern said AEG Ogden, which manages the venue, was delighted to be partnering with Qudos Bank in bringing the new brand to life through the venue.

“We’re the oldest new bank on the block and we’re here to do things a bit differently”, says King.

“Generally, people associate banking with being impersonal, all about fees, shareholders and doing what’s always been done in banking. We want to change all that”.

“One of the ways we’re doing things differently is through this naming rights opportunity. This venue is perfectly aligned to bringing ‘Qudos’ to life and fundamental to how we reward and give back to our Members in a very unique and ‘unbank like’ way. Something that we and AEG Ogden are excited about”, says King.

“It is a brand that is very customer focused and its strong client ethos fits hand in glove with our philosophy in the entertainment business” says Hevern.

“In addition, Qudos Bank has a range of very attractive financial products that we want to help promote to our large and diverse audiences at the venue”.

“The AEG Ogden team at Qudos Bank Arena is highly motivated to create a platform by which Qudos Bank can interact with our patrons across the wide range of world class events that we host at the venue each year,” Mr. Hevern said.

Since its inception in September 1999, the venue has presented 1,050 events to more than 8.6 million fans and is the venue of choice in Sydney for major bands and artists when touring Australia.

It continues to figure among the top arenas in the world, recently ranked by Billboard at number 8 for ticket sales for venues with a capacity of 15,000 and above.

The long term agreement was negotiated by the Australian AEG Global Partnerships and AEG Ogden teams, in conjunction with their colleagues in London and Los Angeles.

“The multi-year deal ensures the name Qudos Bank Arena will become synonymous with some of the greatest touring artists in the world,” Paul Samuels, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships concluded.
