Neil Finn, the church, Peter Noble added to BIGSOUND
Neil Finn, the church and Bluesfest Director Peter Noble are locked in to give keynote speeches at BIGSOUND in Brisbane this September.
Neil Finn will open the three-day music conference on September 10 to talk Crowded House, Split Enz and his solo projects; Steve Kilbey will preview his latest album and discuss the church from an industry standpoint, and Noble will give a keynote, no doubt touching on Australia’s frail festival market.
More than three dozen speakers have been added to BIGSOUND including international panelists Anthony Fantano (Founder of The Needle Drop), Reggie Ba-Pe III (Sonically Transmitted Disease) and Anuj Gupta (Only Much Louder) and A&R heads from Atlantic Records (US), Burger Records (US), Transgressive Records (UK), Neon Gold (US), Sony ATV Music Publishing (US), Mom & Pop Music (US) and The Syndicate (US).
BIGSOUND programmer Nick O’Byrne, who stepped down as GM of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) on June 30, said: “When we say BIGSOUND means business, we mean it. Whether it’s labels, publishers, live bookers and more, we’ve got some of the most important players in the global music business here to see the best new music and join in the discussion about one of the most dynamic industries on the planet.”
