Neil and Liam Finn reveal details of first album together
Neil Finn and his son Liam Finn’s first album together is titled Lightsleeper and is out Friday, August 24 on Inertia Music and [PIAS].
It is preceded by lead-off single ‘Back To Life’.
Recorded mainly in Neil’s Auckland studio, the album is very much a family affair.
Sharon Finn – Neil’s wife, and Liam’s mother – plays bass on two of the songs. Elroy Finn – Liam’s brother – drums on seven.
Good friend Connan Mockasin returns for four. Greek friends Elias Dendias and Spiros Anemogianis bring bouzouki and accordion to ‘Back To Life’.
Mick Fleetwood turns up to play on ‘Anger Plays A Part’, ‘Any Other Way’ and ‘We Know What It Means’.
The family spirit is shown on the first track, ‘Island of Peace’, with a gift from father to son on his wedding day: “Together, together” goes the chorus.
