MusicNSW offers $5K grants for all-ages shows

As part of City of Sydney’sLive Music and Performance Action Plan, the City has partnered with contemporary music peak body MusicNSW to supportall ages events in inner Sydney.

The All Ages Access Grants (AAA Grants) will provide funding of up to $5,000 for venues, promoters, collectives and organisations putting on all ages shows in Sydney between February and June 2017.

The AAA Grants were created to cover artist fees, advertising, marketing, publicity costs, venue costs and production costs.

Lord Mayor Clover Mooresaid: “Live music and performance enriches our city’s cultural life and contributes to the local creative economy, there’s no question our community supports it.

“Reviving Sydney’s live music scene is a challenge that will require long-term investment from all levels of government but we’ve committed to taking immediate action wherever we can.”

The guidelines, which can be read in full here, state applicants must be a resident of NSW for at least 12 months prior to the closing date, must not use the Grant for administrative fees or wages and must feature at least one NSW artist/band on the lineup

Applications are now open and will be assessed by a panel consisting of representatives from MusicNSW, City of Sydney and three representatives from the live music industry.

Funding Applications should be submitted, with any support material, to [email protected] by 5pm Monday, January 16.

Successful Applicantswill be announced January 30, 2017.
