Gudinski’s historic Home Front gig gets encore screening on Nine
Nine has revealed plans for an encore screening of Michael Gudinski’s Anzac Day concert.
Music From The Home Front will broadcast for a second time on June 22, immediately after The Voice Australia at 9pm, with a one-hour highlights package.
As always, Gudinski’s timing is perfect. The supporting album on double CD, triple vinyl and digital download drops June 19 on Mushroom-owned imprint Bloodlines.
The concert, to honour Azacs and frontline workers, saw an unprecedented lineup of over 50 musicians come together with live-streamed performances filmed in lockdown.
Among the collaborator’s to make the cut for this month’s encore are Colin Hay and Delta Goodrem, Bliss N Eso and Kate Ceberano and Tim Minchin and Missy Higgins.
Other confirmed performances are from Vance Joy, Birds Of Tokyo, Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Dean Lewis, Paul Kelly, Tones And I, Ben Lee, Guy Sebastian, DMA, and Crowded House.
Talking to TMN prior to the special, Gudinski said the event was about bringing the country together, to honour the Anzacs and workers on the frontline of the coronavirus response.
By all reports, the undertaking was as ambitious as it was necessary. The final product proved a big hit with viewers, securing a national peak audience of almost 1.5 million Australians.
Music From The Home Front was the most-watched show on April 25, even surprising the top brass at Nine, the Mushroom Group boss told TMN last momth.
“We had just nine days to pull together Music From The Home Front. A show this big should take months, I am so proud of the results,” Gudinski said.
