Mushroom Group restructures marketing & promo teams
Mushroom Group has announced a major restructuring of marketing and promotions across the company, with a new dedicated team for both its touring and label divisions.
The new live division will be responsible for marketing, digital and PR for Chugg Entertainment, Frontier Touring, CMC Rocks, and other live partnerships, and PR for Illusive Presents.
In addition, Mushroom will have a dedicated in-house promotions, marketing and social team to service its recorded music business, after expanding to seven labels across five cities.
Newly opened offices in the US and UK will also have their own teams aimed at driving the success of a formidable growing local and international roster, while Mushroom Promotions will be split up, with staff either moving into the touring or label teams.
“Mushroom has seen significant growth in recent years across both the live and label businesses and this restructure is an incredibly exciting stage in our evolution,” said Michael Gudinski.
“Our overriding principle at Mushroom is to be leaders and not followers and I believe these changes will allow us to consolidate both sides of our business. I’m also very pleased to be promoting so many great staff from within and can’t wait to see them develop even further in their areas. Watch this space, there is more to come! Exciting times.”
A number of staffing changes are headlined by the promotion of Reegan Stark to the role of chief marketing & communications officer. Stark has racked up 20 years in the biz, 17 years at Mushroom, and the last 12 looking after Mushroom Promotions.
She will now oversee the newly formed communications, marketing and digital divisions for live, and will report directly to CEO Michael Gudinski and COO Dion Brant.
Dan Baker is promoted to become general manager, media & strategy for Mushroom Labels, off the back of five years as head of radio & streaming.
Baker will be looking after the new promotional & artist strategy for the Mushroom roster, and overseeing local and international promotions teams, reporting directly to Mushroom Group executive director Matt Gudinski as well as Mushroom Labels COO Chris Maund.
David ‘Fez’ Fesdekjian joins Mushroom Group as the new head of radio replacing Baker. He was recently the director at Six Boroughs Media and previously worked at EMI
About 15 employees at Mushroom will see role changes as part of the restructure, while eight are either hired or moved into new roles within Mushroom-owned labels.
