Mushroom Group launches music podcast with Mikey Cahill
Mushroom-signed The Teskey Brothers feature on the new series.

The Teskey Brothers feature in 180 Grams, a new podcast from Mushroom Group.

The series delves into the making of, and stories behind, albums by Mushroom artists. The Teskey Brothers are first, taking fans behind their acclaimed second studio record Run Home Slow.

The band’s rise from Warrandyte locals to international rock’n’soul group has been steep, and listeners will experience the journey from pre-production, through to sold-out global shows.

The story of The Teskey Brothers will span the full six episodes of the 180 Grams debut season, with music journo Mikey Cahill acting as guide and host as new episodes drop each Tuesday.

Cahill has worked as a music journalist for the last 22 years while contributing to News Corp, The Age/Sydney Morning Herald, Resident Advisor, Time Out, Beat and The Music.

The series features interviews with 32 people who worked intimately with the band, while today’s announcement also promises easter eggs for superfans, including unheard instrumentals.

“You could tell that they’d been a band for 10 years. They just sounded unbelievable, you know, as tight as they do now, how often do you get to see a band who’s had 10 years to perfect their craft?” says Marihuzka Cornelius, A&R manager at Ivy League Records.

The first episode of Mushroom’s 180 Grams podcast is available now. Check out the trailer below:
