Most Added: Missy misses out as Marshmello gets a monster reception
Commercial radio’s affection for Marshmello has proved too strong for Missy Higgins as her fairytale return to radio is overshadowed by the veiled hitmaker.
The DJ’scollab with Anne-Marie on ‘Friends’ scored adds to Smallzy’s Surgery, KIIS Sydney, the ACE Radio Network and metro Hit stations – including a pivotal across-the-board addition to Hit’s national drive slot.
Nova were instrumental in tightening the race this week by championing Missy Higgins’s ‘Futon Couch’. The entire network added the single on high rotation, pushing ‘Futon Couch’ into an early lead. Hit’s national late nights program Collective Noun also got behind the track, but it wasn’t enough to displace ‘Friends’.
Maroon 5 registered a strong display for a second consecutive week with ‘Wait’. Nova belatedly playlisted theRed Pill Blues single,as did a handful of provincial and regional stations across Australia.
Not going unnoticed is One Bit & Noah Cyrus’ team effort on ‘My Way’, which sneaks into the Top 5 thanks to a Hit nights addition on Ash London LIVE. Likewise, the latest remix of Calum Scott’s ‘You Are The Reason’alongsideLeona Lewis also turned heads at commercial coming mainly from the Hit Network.
