Most Added: Amy Shark wins historic week at Australian radio
In an unprecedented week at Aussie radio, Amy Shark has overcome US act Jonas Brothers by the slimmest of margins to take out her third TMN Most Added crown.
‘Mess Her Up’ and ‘Sucker’ went tit-for-tat across the commercial landscape in a thrilling skirmish that went down to the wire.
Never before have adds to iHeartRadio Dance and Coles Radio mattered so much.
Nova and metro Hit stations put their weight behind Shark early on in the week before Jonas Brothers hit back with a near-decisive across-the-board addition to the KIIS network.
By Wednesday afternoon, Sony and Universal were doing all they could to get their respective artists over the line, offering up remix and acoustic versions of the tracks to entice niche stations and networks.
Jonas Brothers were favoured in regional areas, even exceeding Shark’s overall tally of added stations this week.
However, the Aussie was ruthless in metro hubs and used this to her advantage with Adult Contemporaries 2DayFM and 973FM Brisbane getting behind ‘Mess Her Up’.
