Kylie Minogue, Little Mix hope to make their mark on this week’s charts
Kylie Minogue and Little Mix’s new releases are the frontrunners in this week’s race for the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Both acts released new records last Friday, Minogue with DISCO and Little Mix with Confetti. The former also celebrated her album’s release with a livestreamed concert, Infinite Disco, hosted on Driift. The platform reported more than 125,000 ticket sales between Minogue and Niall Horan’s shows, which both took place last weekend.
Minogue has previously held two #1 places on the albums chart, with Golden in 2018 and her Step Back in Time greatest hits compilation in 2019. While it’s not looking like Little Mix will sweep the charts with the top spot, they could still make the Top 10.
A similar battle appears to be taking place in the UK, with MusicWeek reporting Minogue and Little Mix are in the running for the top position. While the Aussie singer is leading with sales of album copies, Little Mix appear to have the upper hand with album-equivalent streams.
Other potential albums to keep an eye on include country singer Brad Cox’s My Mind’s Projection, which could land in the ARIA Top 50, as well as Ashton Irwin’s debut LP, Superbloom.
For new singles, The Kid LAROI, Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus are all acts to keep an eye out for.
