Ministry of Sound’s Tim McGee joins PPCA Board

Ministry of Sound Australia’s CEO Tim McGee has replaced Inertia Music CEO Colin Daniels on the PPCA Board.

Following the he biennial election for one of the two Licensor Representative positions on the Board, McGee now begins his two-year term, bringing his more than 30-years of industry experience and knowledge to the table.

Through his experience founding Ministry of Sound Australia and working with its various subsidiaries, including Etcetc, Central Station and Hussle, McGee’s fields of knowledge cover recordings, touring, live events, publishing, artist management, venue consultancy and content creation.

McGee joins the Board’s six other members: PPCA Board Chairman and Universal Music Asia Pacific President George Ash, Denis Handlin, AM (SME), Tony Harlow (WMA), Josh Pyke (artist), Lindy Morrison, OAM (artist), Bill Cullen (One Louder) and fellow Licensor Representative David Vodicka (Media Arts Lawyers).

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Tim McGee to the PPCA board. Tim’s appointment is a testament to his broad experience and the immense respect he has from the Australian music industry”said George Ash, PPCA Board Chairman.

“I express my thanks to all of the PPCA licensors who voted, not only for me, but for all candidates,” said McGee in a statement. “PPCA has an increasingly vital role to play for Recording Companies and Artists as broadcast, public performance and online revenues become more and more important to the industry.”

PPCA and ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said in a statement: “I congratulate Tim on his election to the Board and I look forward to working with him to further progress the interests of recording artists in Australia.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing Licensor Representative Colin Daniels for his invaluable contribution to the ongoing development of PPCA throughout the last two years.”
