Mimi Webb continues her ascent with new single ‘Good Without’
Following the breakout success of last year’s ‘Before I Go’, emerging British talent Mimi Webb looks to continue her upwards trajectory with new single ‘Good Without’.
Written alongside Fridolin Walcher and Sam Merrifield, ‘Good Without’ sees the 20-year-old singer-songwriter in her element, pairing her soaring vocal range with effervescent, piano-driven instrumentation courtesy of Swiss pop producer Freedo (Zara Larsson, The Chainsmokers).
The song, which was teased on TikTok to rapturous reception and officially debuted last month via Epic Records/Sony Music, marks Webb’s fourth single, landing airplay on BBC Radio 1 and notching up close to 40 million plays on Spotify alone since its release.
Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Sam Smith and Emelie Sandé, Webb first began writing songs at the age of 13 before learning to play guitar, which led her to enrol in The BRIT School as a teenager before leaving home to attend the prestigious BIMM (British Institute of Modern Music).
After uploading a batch of unfinished collaborations and demos to the internet in 2019, Webb inked a management deal and signed with Epic Records. She achieved her first break into the mainstream last year when debut single ‘Before I Go’ was featured in two videos from TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, generating over 85.7 million views across the platform.
Since then, she’s managed to garner more than 50 million worldwide streams and landed at #11 on the UK singles charts, as well as appearing in Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough chart, Wonderland Mag and Clash.
A recently announced live show in London managed to sell out within 60 seconds, solidifying her status as one of pop’s most exciting new acts today.
