Mimi Webb’s ‘Dumb Love’ is the UK pop breakout’s most defining moment yet
Hot on the heels of her latest chart-conquerer ‘Good Without’, Mimi Webb has returned with ‘Dumb Love’, a sublime slice of pop bliss that solidifies her status as one of the UK’s best new pop acts.
A lovelorn ballad written about the beginning of a new romantic relationship, ‘Dumb Love’ is one of Webb’s best releases to date, acting as a breathtaking showcase for her soulful vocals and uncanny songwriting prowess.
The stirring track shows just why there’s such a big buzz around the young British talent, with ‘Dumb Love’ peaking at #12 on the UK Charts and rising across Spotify and Apple Music’s streaming charts since its release in June.
Originally hailing from Canterbury, Webb unexpectedly rose to the spotlight after her debut single ‘Before I Go’ went viral across TikTok last year, achieving over 20 million views on the platform.
After ‘Good Without’ also proved popular among TikTokers, ‘Dumb Love’ has now begun gaining significant traction on the platform, with over 115,000 videos being created using the track.
The song has also been streamed more than 72 million times globally, with over 2.3 million streams coming from Australia alone.
Webb was also recently announced as Apple Music’s latest Up Next UK artist, and was recently featured as the musical guest on The Ellen Show to perform ‘Good Without’.
The 21-year-old artist is set to release her debut EP within the coming months, and if her recent efforts are anything to go by, it seems clear that we’ll all have to get used to hearing more of Mimi Webb soon.
