Midweek ARIA Predictions: Barbra eyes the top
ARIA Singles
American DJ duo The Chainsmokers are on track to claim their fourth week in a row at #1 with Closer ft. Halsey. The banger will see no immediate competition with the first big move expected from Martin Garrix’s In The Name Of Love ft. Halsey, expected to enter the Top 10, currently at #23.
MØ’s MNEK-produced hit Final Song is also set to hit the bracket from #15 following a brief promo stint in the country last week which included a performance at Nova’s Red Room.
Passenger’s latest single Anywhere will take a debut in the Top 50 as will Cheat Codes & Dante Klien’s Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On). Cheat Codes’ last single Sex, a collaboration with Kris Kross Amsterdam, peaked at #17 earlier this year.
ARIA Albums
It’s been two years after Barbra Streisand took her first #1 on the ARIA Albums chart with Partners and now she’s set to do it again with Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. The album features tracks with Jamie Foxx and Alec Baldwin amongst others.
Britney Spears’ Glory is on track for a #2 debut, what could be her highest charting appearance since 2011’s #1 album Femme Fatale. Local legends Twelve Foot Ninja have their eyes set for the Top 10 with Outlier. Country greats Florida Georgia Line will also likely enter the Top 10 with Dig Your Boots alongside Australia’s own Troy Cassar-Daley with Things I Carry Around.
Glass Animals saw their ARIA charting debut in 2014 with Zaba at #12 but that could be beaten with How To Be A Human Being also looking for a Top 10 entry.
