Michael Gudinski’s state memorial: How to watch the livestream
The stage is set for Michael Gudinski’s state memorial, and the livestream is ready to roll.
Thousands of friends and associates will gather at Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday night for a final send off to the Mushroom Group founder and chairman.
Those who can’t get there on the night can watch-on from their devices.
The special event will livestream from 7.07pm on YouTube and the state government’s website, and is expected to run for 100 minutes.
There’s an exclusive nature to proceedings. According to a statement from Frontier Touring, the livestream is a one-time-only experience.
MG will be remembered with tributes, speeches, and performances celebrating his “lifelong passion” and “honouring his significant contribution to the Australian and international music industry and the state of Victoria.”
Images of Gudinski dominate the Olympic Blvd complex. When guests arrive at Melbourne Park, they’ll be greeted with posters and marquees featuring the industry legend in his famous “No. 1” pose.
Earlier today, ARIA paid tribute to Gudinski with the announcement that the Breakthrough Artist ARIA Award would be renamed in his honour.
Gudinski passed away on March 2, aged 68. His “passion for music was legendary and his advocacy for artists established him as a much loved, respected and admired leader in the industry in Australia and overseas,” reads a statement from Dan Andrews’ government.
Tomorrow night we honour Michael Solomon Gudinski AM with a State Memorial at Rod Laver Arena from 7:07pm AEDT.
