Pop singer Mia Rodriguez signs global partnership with City Pop and Atlantic Records

Australian pop singer Mia Rodriguez has partnered with City Pop Records and Warner’s Atlantic Records in a global deal.

The deal will see Rodriguez’s music continue to be released by City Pop, an imprint of Chugg Music, here in Australia, and City Pop/Atlantic for the rest of the world.

“So excited to announce that I’m now officially signed to Atlantic Records,” Rodriguez said. “They have so many amazing artists that I’ve looked up to my whole life, and I’m so excited to be a part of the family. The next few years in my life are gonna be insane, I just know it.”

To coincide with the signing, Rodriguez has released the acoustic version of her breakthrough 2020 track ‘Psycho’. The original single earned her a triple j Unearthed Artist of the Year nomination.

Rodriguez made her debut with City Pop in 2019 with ‘Emotion’. As an early adopter of TikTok, the 18-year-old has managed to rack up 2 million followers on the platform, as well as 200,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Atlantic Records’ Pete Ganbarg said Rodriguez’s new music is fantastic, and the team can’t wait to share it.

“We fell in love with Mia’s vision the first time we met and really got a chance to visit the world she’s creating, both musically and visually,” he said.

Rodriguez was City Pop’s first signing upon its launch in 2019 by Michael Chugg and business partner Andrew Stone. The roster now also includes Mason Watts and Andrew Lambrou.
