Concord Music Publishing Signs Meg Mac
Meg Mac has become the first signee of Concord Music Publishing ANZ since it snapped up Native Tongue.
Mac’s third album “Matter of Time” is out now via EMI. In March, she signed a management deal with Milton Archer.
She first came to prominence in 2014, when she won Triple J’s Unearthed Artist of the Year. Then in 2017, her debut album “Low Blows” reached No. 2 on the Australian charts. Her follow-up LP “Hope”came out in 2019.
Jaime Gough, managing director of Concord Music Publishing ANZ, said he’s long been a fan of Mac.
“I’ve been a fan of Meg since first hearing “Roll Up Your Sleeves” in 2014. Since then, Meg has built a great career and remained true to her artistry. Meg is an incredible talent and her skill for songwriting extends well beyond her solo project. It’s very exciting to finally start working together,” he said.
Mac will tour Australia and New Zealand in April and May next year, and will soon kick off a North American stint as support for the Jacob Banks tour.
Concord Music Publishing, meanwhile, offers bespoke creative support from its A&R, synchronisation and marketing teams, as well as in-house copyright, licensing, income tracking and royalties.
Last month it was revealed that Native Tongue – founded in 2003 by New Zealander Chris Gough – was changing hands and had been snapped up by Concord. The acquisition spawned Concord Music Publishing ANZ, with staff in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.
