Mallrat signs global deal with Dew Process Publishing

The rise and rise of Mallrat (Grace Shaw) continues, with the announcement this morning that she has signed a global deal with Dew Process Publishing.

Earlier this month, ARIA certified the Brisbane-born act’s 2018 single ‘Groceries’ Gold for sales of 35,000.

Next month, she heads off for a European run with US indie-pop singer Maggie Rogers, who late last year invited Mallrat to tour through the US as her main support.

This brings the tally of their shared shows to 30.

The US media has taken a shine to the Australian.

“Australia’s most exciting new pop singer,” declared Billboard.

“If you were emo in high school but only listen to pop now, this will be your jam,” advised Fader.

Dew Process Publishing is administered by Kobalt and is part of the Secret Sounds Group.

Paul Piticco, co-CEO of Secret Sounds Group, said of the signing: “Grace is an incredible talent and a brilliant songwriter.

“Her lyrics are personal and have the ability to really connect with and affect people.

“I am excited and incredibly proud for Dew  Process Publishing and our great mates at Kobalt to be working with Mallrat.

“The Chinese calendar has it wrong, 2019 IS The Year of the Rat!”

Simon Moor, MD Kobalt Music Group Australia added:  “The global agreement between Kobalt and Dew Process makes for the perfect partnership for Mallrat and teamtrick Management.

“Kobalt’s creative and synchronisation expertise, along with our technology and transparency in administration will support the continuing worldwide success of Mallrat.”

Shaw herself concluded: “I’m really excited to be working with the teams at Dew Process Publishing and Kobalt – I can’t wait to get started!”
