Major Music Festival Inks Deal Ahead of Expected International Expansion

CAA has signed independent live entertainment brand and touring music festival company Breakaway for representation, marking a significant step towards the festival’s international expansion.

Per Variety, the deal will see Breakaway working within CAA’s media and entertainment partnerships division to launch a newly structured sponsorship platform designed to scale its national footprint and develop original intellectual property. The company currently operates through two main branches: Breakaway Projects, an in-house record label and artist incubator, and Breakaway Presents, which handles pop-up experiences.

Already established in over 12 cities throughout the US, Breakaway is now plotting its international expansion with the goal of bringing its live events and artist pop-ups to global markets. The festival, primarily known for its EDM lineups, is also planning to expand into new genres as part of its growth strategy.

“Breakaway offers brands the chance to co-create something that lives beyond the stage, rooted in relevance and designed for lasting impact,” said Adam Lynn, CEO of Breakaway. “We’re excited to make moves that position us at the intersection of music, content and community.”

The festival has also recently announced the expansion of its title partnership with energy drink brand Celsius, strengthening its commercial strategies. A spokesperson for Breakaway highlighted the extended engagement opportunities for brands, stating, “While a festival may last two days, the fan connection starts long before and continues long after the physical activation — giving brands creative touch points around content collaboration, digital media, and merchandise integrations that engage this devoted fanbase.”

Breakaway’s approach to festival experiences has cultivated a dedicated following, making it an attractive platform for brands looking to connect with music fans in authentic and innovative ways.

The next Breakaway Festival is scheduled for May 30th-31st at the Historic Crew Stadium Festival Grounds in Columbus, Ohio. The lineup features prominent electronic music artists including Dom Dolla, Sofi Tukker, Marshmello, Afrojack, and Isoxo.

On Dolla, the Australian DJ and producer just announced his first stadium show in Australia, which will be the biggest headline event of his career to date.

The electronic music superstar (aka Dominic Matheson) will make his debut at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on Saturday, December 20th.
