Luke Combs lands second Country Airplay #1 in Australia
US country sensation Luke Combs has risen to the summit of Australian country radio for just the second time in his career.
‘1, 2 Many’, featuring legendary duo Brooks & Dunn, rose one spot on the TMN Country Hot 50 powered by Radio Monitor this week to go past Kip Moore’s ‘She’s Mine’.
Surprisingly, his only previous chart-topper was ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’ which spent a whopping eight weeks atop the old TMN Country Airplay Chart earlier in 2019.
‘1, 2 Many’ is the fifth release by Combs to crack the airplay Top 5 down under. He first broke the chart in 2017 with ‘When It Rains It Pours’ (#3), before ‘She Got The Best Of Me’ (#5) and ‘Beautiful Crazy’ (#2) performed well a year later.
This week’s chart also sees a debut for rising Aussie Brad Cox, with his first release since signing to Sony Music Entertainment ‘Give Me Tonight’ bowing at #38.
Cox rose as high as #4 on the TMN Country Airplay Chart, and his latest single could go higher on the Hot Country 50 in the coming weeks.
‘Give Me Tonight’ also broke the TMN Hot 100 this week at #97, Cox’s first track to do so, thanks to widespread playlisting by Triple M. It also debuted at #23 on the Australian Airplay Chart this week.
The achievement follows a Top 5 billing on the latest TMN Most Added Chart.
