Love and Rent expands team, artist roster: Exclusive

LOVE AND RENT, the artist management home of Kwame, Raave Tapes, Fritz and Split Feed, is expanding through a raft of new appointments, fresh artist signings and a relaunched online presence, TIO can exclusively reveal.

Led by Ben Cooper and Courtney Rumble, the Sydney and Newcastle-based boutique company welcomes artist manager Beau Somers to its ranks and promotes Brodie Richardson, who becomes marketing & content director.

Brodie also serves as marketing director for The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle, as well as a number of other venues and festivals in the region and, until recently, worked with L+R on driving online engagement for its artists.

Somers brings STUMPS, a Britpop inspired four-piece from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, who will support the release of their debut EP with a support slot on Trophy Eyes’ national tour this October.

STUMPS recently signed with national booking agency 123 Agency, and dropped a new single “Conversation, Conversations,” which is getting love from Triple J’s Unearthed station. “With so much bite and energy I reckon it’s only a matter of time for the fan adoration to roll in,” notes Unearthed music director Dave Ruby Howe.

Also joining the artist roster is Grace Turner, a folk singer and songwriter from Newcastle whose single “Dead or Alive” has punched past 377,000 streams on Spotify. Turner has secured slots on the bills for Festival of The Sun, FKA Festival and Dashville Festival, not bad for an artist with a catalogue that runs two-songs deep.

L+R adds muscle to its team just days out from Kwame, Fritz and Raave Tapes’ showcases at the Bigsound summit in Brisbane.  For more, visit the rebooted LOVE AND RENT Website here.
