Little Quirks sign with Downtown Music Publishing
Big things await Little Quirks, who’ve signed a global deal with Downtown Music Publishing ahead of a new EP release.
The Australia folk-pop band is a family unit, comprising siblings and cousins Abbey Toole, Alex Toole, Jaymi Toole and Mia Toole.
With Downtown, that family is expanding.
“My bandmates and I are absolutely thrilled to be joining the Downtown family,” said Abbey Toole of the new publishing arrangement. They’re “such cool people, such a cool roster. What an honour.”
Already, Little Quirks have three independently released EPs under their belts. Their debut 2018 single ‘Crumbled’ has raced past 3.3 million plays on Spotify, and won praise from Tim Rogers and others.
“These Quirks have the nous and charm of the greats,” the You Am I frontman enthuses. “Deft songwriting and performers of depth and levity. Watch ‘em rise”.

Plans to tour the U.K. and elsewhere through 2020 came undone due to the health crisis, though Little Quirks used the time to their advantage.
The group tapped Grammy-winning mixer, engineer and producer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Lumineers) to work the boards on their fourth EP, due out in 2021.
In October, they shared a taste of music from that new record, ‘Florence’s Town,’ the first release through a new recording deal with ABC Music.
“It’s the ‘little quirks’ that make the band so special: the stomps, handclaps, harmonies and knowing smiles between siblings as they take flight on stage,” comments Rachel Kelly, Downtown’s Sydney-based Creative Director and Head of Sync in Australia and New Zealand.
Little Quirks’ career is guided by Jeremy Furze, manager of The Teskey Brothers.
“We’re so honoured that Abbey, Jaymi, Mia and Alex have chosen Downtown as a global creative partner,” adds Kelly. “It’s a genuine pleasure working with Jeremy Furze and Al Parkinson of Applejack Music, as Little Quirks take their next career steps in leaps and bounds.”

Raised on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Little Quirks have shared stages with the likes of The Teskey Brothers, The Preatures, Xavier Rudd, Ruby Fields, Tim Rogers and Alex the Astronaut.
They returned to the stage for the Great Southern Nights stretch of COVID-safe shows, with dates in their hometown of Gosford, at The Entrance Leagues on 21st November, followed by Sydney’s Chippendale Hotel on 27th November and Morriset Showgrounds on 28th November.
