Little BIGSOUND announces second speaker lineup
PRESS RELEASE:
The fifth annual Little BIGSOUND youth music forum has just announced its second official run of speakers today, adding to an already amazing list of top industry officials. Smack Face Music’s Trina Massey, founder of Graetzmedia Dan Graetz, Young Strangers’ Jane Slingo, Brisbane booking agent Julia Bridger, Brian Tucker CPA accountant Matthew Tucker, graphic designer and co-founder of The Brisbane Collective Megan Starr-Thomas and Title Track music publicist Sarah Chipman now join the ranks, alongside ARIA Award winning producer Magoo, Footstomp Director Graham Ashton, 4ZZZ music coordinator Chris Cobcroft, Think Creative’s Tim Ariel and Collision Course publicist Tim Price. Little BIGSOUND is held on July 27 at The Judith Wright Centre in Fortitude Valley. Specifically aimed at high school and university students, the event brings together industry-leading agents, record labels, bookers, artists, venue owners, recording studios and more to discuss branding, networking, booking, electronic music, DIY recording and, of course, how to build sustainable careers. In addition to panel discussions and workshop sessions, attendees will also experience live music performances from Mackay duo Tia & Jack, Brisbane indie/pop outfit Alex Crook and energetic indie-rock two-piece, The Con & The Liar. Little BIGSOUND is programmed and run by a group of enthusiastic young people mentored by Queensland’s contemporary music industry development association, QMusic. The event therefore not only helps provide young music lovers with invaluable insight into the industry, but also gives the event’s youth organisers personal experience in curating, event management, booking, marketing and advertising. “Little BIGSOUND has been an amazing learning experience for myself and the team, and we couldn’t be happier with the way everything has turned out this year,” said Fiona Campbell, youth curator of the event. “We’ve selected a really great cross section of industry speakers and musicians, all of which have a wealth of knowledge to provide those that head along. “ Little BIGSOUND runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm and will include several in depth panel discussions, workshops and live performances. Tickets are on sale now, and for $38.50 attendees get a full day of inspiring panels and sessions, the chance to connect and learn from industry professionals and engage with likeminded peers. Ticket also includes a fully catered lunch.
