Liberator Music announces partnership with Partisan Records

Mushroom Group’s Liberator Records has struck new partnership with Partisan Records.

As part of the agreement, Liberator Music will provide distribution services for Partisan artists for Australia and New Zealand and offer local label strategy for the roster.

Partisan Records was founded in Brooklyn and has offices in London and Los Angeles, with upcoming releases on the way from IDLES, Fontaines D.C., Pottery and more.

Liberator Music boss Nick Dunshea first saw Partisan artists at Glastonbury. “After seeing both IDLES and Fontaines D.C. at Glastonbury 2019, I was completely blown away,” he said.

“Partisan Records are an incredibly exciting, innovative and forward-thinking label who have carved their own niche,” Dunshea said in a statement.

“We’re always wanting to work with unique artists and labels, and with Partisan we get both.”

Partisan and Liberator Music also announced the third album from IDLES titled Ultra Mono will drop September 25. A Hero’s Death, the next record from Fontaines DC, is out July 31.

Partisan Records’ international GM, Jeff Bell, said the team is excited to partner with a label like Liberator Music that shares the same values.

“We’ve long been admirers of Nick and the team at Liberator’s work in Australia,” he said.

“As we continue to take a global perspective for all of our artists, we are delighted to be joining forces with a partner who shares our quality over quantity approach, in what is becoming a very exciting market for us and our roster.”
