Larry Heath signs Jack Carty to indie publisher Music Sales
Music Sales Australia’s newly appointed A&R Manager Larry Heath (Heath Media, The AU Review) has made his first signing since joining the independent publisher.
Bellingen-born, UK-based singer-songwriter Jack Carty has inked a global music publishing deal with Music Sales’ publishing imprint Embassy Music Publishing.
Carty, who has co-written with the likes of Dan Wilson (Adele, Taylor Swift), Josh Pyke and Katie Noonan, first caught the attention of Heath seven years ago in Canada.
“[I’ve] been watching him develop as a songwriter and a performer ever since,” said Heath. “He’s grown into one of the finest contemporary songwriters in Australia, and I’m thrilled to have him join the Embassy Music Publishing family, as well as to have such a phenomenal talent as my first signing.”
Carty is already a decorated artist, counting a national MusicOz award, a biannual APRA Professional Development Award, and a placing in Rhythms Magazine‘s list of Top 10 albums of 2016 (Home State), among his accolades.
In fact, Home State debuted at #1 on the AIR Independent album chart last year, #36 on the ARIA Album Chart, and Such was was picked up for release in the UK by Gilded Lily/Absolute.
“It’s a wonderful thing to meet people in the music business with the love and commitment to care, sacrifice and put in as much as the musicians themselves,” said Carty. “Larry Heath is one of those people and I am so excited to be working with him, Jane and the entire Embassy Music Publishing team around the world on some very exciting plans for the future.”
Under the guidance of Music Sales Managing Director Jane English, Carty joins a quality music publishing roster of composers that includes Jed Kurzel, Ludovico Einaudi, Nico Muhly, Bryce Dessner, Harts, Hauschka, Dustin O’Halloran, Philip Glass, Tan Dun, Michael Nyman, Eric Bogle, Bright Sheng, Jeff Beal, William Barton, Tyrone Noonan, John Corigliano, Stewart Copeland, George Fenton, Richard Reed Perry, Eric Whitaker, Joby Talbot, Fallulah, Set Sail, Anoushka Shankar and Danny Saber.
