Kylie Minogue Teases Australia Tour

Kylie Minogue Teases Australia Tour

Kylie Minogue is putting aside the disappointment of the 2024 Splendour In The Grass cancelation by plotting her own tour of Australia.

The homegrown “princess of pop” spilled the beans this morning on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick show.

“I want to say yes. Yes. The answer is yes,” she responded to the question on a tour in support of Tension, her chart-topping 2023 album. “We’re just locking down details.”

The as-yet-unconfirmed trek would be Minogue’s first Australian run in five years; her last was the seven-date jaunt in support of Golden in 2019.

“Maybe I wasn’t meant to say that,” she continued, “but yes.”

A full-scale national trek should appease her legion of Aussie fans, robbed of a Kylie headline spot next week at Splendour. Kylie was booked to a bill alongside Future and Arcade Fire and scores of others, for an event that was subsequently scrapped just days after the general onsale

Minogue joined The Fox morning show from the U.K., following her performance over the weekend at London’s Hyde Park, her first there since 2015.

Kylie used the platform of the concert to perform her new collaborative single “My Oh My” (via Liberation/BMG), featuring Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo, both of whom joined her on stage.

Kylie is enjoying a purple patch. Tension hit No. 1 in the U.K. and Australia, and yielded the global hit “Padam Padam,” which cracked the U.K. top 10 and won an ARIA for best pop release.

Earlier this year, she collected the Global Icon Award at the BRIT Awards, becoming just the second woman to win it following Taylor Swift in 2021.

Also, she nabbed a Grammy Award (best pop dance recording) for “Padam Padam,” completed her inaugural Las Vegas Residency, and signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) for live representation in the U.S. and Canada and acting roles worldwide.
