Kendrick Lamar, QOTSA, Def Leppard/Scorpions tours to warm up colder months

Three major tours were announced this morning that prove that the Australian touring circuit is still buoyant.

* One of the biggest selling acts at the moment with 13 billion Spotify streams, Kendrick Lamar –  already announced as a headliner for Splendour In the Grass in Byron Bay –  is extending his The Damn Tour.

Live Nation revealed that the 2018 Pulitzer Prize and 12x Grammy winner will be at:

Tuesday July 10: Perth Arena

Friday July 13: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne

Sunday July 15: Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Tuesday July 24: Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney

Tickets go on sale on Monday April 30, with Sydney’s at 12 on (local time), Melbourne at 1 pm, Perth at 2 pm and Adelaide at 3 pm.


* Queens Of The Stone Age bring their Villains World Tour to Australia and New Zealand, with opening act blues performer C.W. Stoneking.

The dates, through Frontier Touring are:

Thursday August 30: Entertainment Centre, Newcastle

Friday August 31:  Hordern Pavilion, Sydney

Tuesday September 4: Derwent Entertainment Centre,

Friday September 7: Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne

Sunday 9 September9: Entertainment Centre, Adelaide

Wednesday September 12: Perth Arena

Frontier members pre-sale begins on Tuesday May 1 at 2 pm, and general sales on Thursday May 3 at noon local time.


* Live Nation is also bringing Def Leppard back, to play their  landmark 1987 Hysteria album in its entirety as well as other songs on their catalogue.

Four years in the making, Hysteria saw Leppard overcome the adversity of drummer Rick Allen’s car crash injury and  broke worldwide with anthems as ‘Animal’, ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’, ‘Hysteria’, ‘Armageddon It’, ‘Love Bites’, ‘Woman’ and ‘Rocket’.

What’s more, to the delight of local metal fans, they are coming with Germany’s Scorpions on their first tour.

They made their debut Australian show at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre in October 2016 as part of their 50th Anniversary World Tour.
