New tunes from Katy Perry, Tones And I debut on the TMN Hot 100
Katy Perry’s first new music of 2020 has made an immediate impact at Australian radio.
Her wedding-themed track ‘Never Worn White’ debuts at #44 this week on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor.
It joins her 2013 smash hit ‘Roar’ on the chart, which rises 26 places to #57, racking up an 83rd charting week and showing the current power of AC format stations.
The track has already performed better than her last single ‘Harleys In Hawaii’ which peaked at #45 on the chart.
Perry has a superb pedigree on the airplay charts, with eight #1 radio hits to her name including ‘Roar’ and ‘California Girls’.
Tones And I returns is another chart debutant this week, just a day after she released two new tracks.
After an unbelievable 2019 which saw Tones top the airplay chart twice (‘Dance Monkey’ and ‘Never Seen The Rain’), the singer-songwriter lands at #65 on the Hot 100 this week with ‘Bad Child’.
The tune was only released on March 11, giving it just over a day to rack up spins.
As was the case with her previous singles, ‘Bad Child’ is getting spins across both alternative and commercial radio.
‘Dance Monkey’ remains on the chart at #46 (up 11 spots), having racked up 44 weeks on the Hot 100, while ‘Never Seen The Rain’ drops two spots to #18 in its 33rd charting week.
Based on form, the tune will rocket up the chart in the next week, providing some stiff competition to a Top 10 that is entirely made up of international acts.
