Justin Bieber becomes second most successful act in Hot 100 history
He’s had to bide his time, but Justin Bieber joins rare company this week to become the joint-second most successful act in the history of the TMN Hot 100.
Bieber’s track ‘Intentions’, featuring rapper Quavo, is officially #1 just 12 weeks after its debut.
It’s the Canadian’s eighth #1 single at Australian radio, and he joins Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran and Aussie Delta Goodrem to reach the milestone.
Only P!NK has more singles since the chart’s inception over 20 years ago, but she’s unlikely to be caught any time soon, with 14 chart-toppers over that time.
Bieber’s last #1 came in 2019 with Sheeran team-up ‘I Don’t Care’. He also came close to the milestone courtesy of country-pop crossover ‘10,000 Hours’ with Dan + Shay, which peaked at #2.

Elsewhere on the TMN Hot 100 powered by Radio Monitor, it’s a good week for local acts with Tones And I reaching a new peak of #7 for ‘Bad Child’, which cracks the Top 10 for the first time.
New Zealand act BENEE also rises two frames to a new peak for ‘Supalonely’ ft Gus Dapperton. It’s her highest charting single to date.
LA-based Aussie Sam Fischer has his first Top 20 hit on the chart, with radio showing some love to ‘This City’, originally released in 2018. His public profile has shot skyward this year, and recently the singer-songwriter made appearances on the Today Show and The Project.
Casey Barnes continues his domination of the Country Hot 50, racking up another week in the #1 spot with ‘Sparks Fly’. He has now held the top spot for six non-consecutive weeks.
The achievement comes after Barnes took out the Artist of the Year award at the Gold Coast Music Awards on Thursday. His new album recently debuted at #1 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart.
