Jimmy Barnes debuts at #1, G.R.L top the Hot 100
Hot 100
This week, G.R.L’s Ugly Heart finally takes #1, pushing Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass back down to #2. Taylor Swift has reached #3 with Shake It Off in only its third week in the chart and will no doubt be a serious contender for #1 in the coming weeks. George Ezra’s Budapest has entered the Top 10 at #8 from last week’s #12, as did Ariana Grande & Zedd with Break Free moving from #11 to #10.
There are plenty of high movers this week. First and foremost, Pitbull’s Fireball has entered the Top 20 from #27 to #17, Redfoo’s New Thang entered the Top 30 at #25 from #52, Sigma & Paloma Faith’s Changing went from #61 to #30 and Maroon 5’s Maps jumped #36 places from #80 to #44. That wasn’t the most moved track however; that title goes to Arrows by Fences ft. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, which went from #91 to #47, a grand total of 44 positions. There’s only one new debut within the Top 50 this week and that is from Eminem’s Guts Over Fear featuring Sia which entered at #46.
ARIA Singles
Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off holds #1 on the ARIA Singles chart for another week, in fact the entire Top 5 has remained stagnant this week with not a single bit of movement. Outside however we see Paloma Faith’s Only Love Can Hurt Like This move up from #10 to #6 and Redfoo’s New Thang jump from #24 to #9, some fairly significant movement. Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang has moved back up to #11 from #15 and Itch’s Another Man has reached #12, a new peak for the track.
ARIA Albums
The Albums chart sees more new debuts in the Top 5 this week. At #1 is 30:30 Hindsight by Jimmy Barnes, his tenth #1 in his 30-year solo artist career. Debuting at #2 is Kasey Chambers’ latest album Bitter Sweet and at #4 is the new album from Maroon 5, V. Aside from the new entries there hasn’t been much movement within the Top 10. Outside it however, Brad Paisley’s Moonshine In The Trunk debuts at #14 and Phil Rudd’s Head Job entered at #22.
