Jessica Mauboy’s new album Hilda looks set to equal or better her highest-charting position on the ARIA Albums Chart this week.

According to mid-week data, Mauboy’s fifth original album could debut on the chart’s podium, potentially joining locally-produced Hillsong Worship album Awake in the Top 3. Her best-performing solo record to date is 2013’s Beautiful which went as high as #3 in a 29-week chart run.

Her longest run on the Albums Chart came in 2008 with debut LP Get ‘Em Girls, which despite racking up an impressive 59 weeks, never made it higher than #11. As part of Young Divas, Mauboy made it to #4 on the chart with the girl group’s eponymous 2006 debut album.

Notably, Mauboy actually featured on a chart-topping album. She featured heavily on 2016’s The Secret Daughter Soundtrack, which took the top spot as part of a 32-week run.

However, Hilda would be her first solo chart-topper, should it make it to the summit.

Mauboy could be joined in the ARIA Top 10 by the latest album from Sydney hip hop duo Horrorshow, whose sixth album New Normal is being tipped for a high debut.

The band’s best performing LP to date was 2013’s King Amongst Many which peaked at #2.

The latest edition of triple j’s series of Like A Version compilations is also eyeing off a Top 10 debut. It’s the 15th release of the series, which features local and international acts covering well-known songs spanning the history of contemporary music.
