Aussie start-up Jaxsta, the company behind the world’s largest music-credits database, is expanding into original content.

The Humans Of Music podcast is hosted by Rod Yates, who the publicly listed tech company has hired to lead its content efforts.

It will feature one-on-one conversations with artists and music industry professionals, with the likes of Tove Lo, Billy Bragg, Bethany Consentino, John Butler, Neko Case and M-Phazes to feature across the series.

Episode One has already gone live, with Snow Patrol founder and frontman Gary Lightbody.

Lightbody discusses a range of topics including battling depression, becoming sober and the difficult years before Snow Patrol became a worldwide success.

“This podcast offers an incredible opportunity for listeners to go one-on-one with some of the most inspiring artists and music industry professionals in the world,” said Yates of the podcast’s launch.

“Some of the things I’ve learned from these guests have surprised, shocked and inspired me – occasionally all at once. I can’t wait to share these interviews.”

Jaxsta launched the beta version of its music credits database Jaxsta Pro in November.

The open beta database contains more than 100 million credits from 19 million recordings.

“I am an avid podcast consumer and it’s a thrill to have Jaxsta launch its own series,” said Jaxsta CEO and founder Jacqui Loues Schoorl.

I’m incredibly excited that we have the opportunity to share the stories of these inspirational artists.

“Rod has a way of interviewing people that is really special and results in very honest and at times raw conversations.

“I am extremely proud of Rod and our new podcast and I hope everyone enjoys it as much I do.”

Humans Of Music is available through all major podcast platforms.
