Jasmine Rae releases tribute single to late Karl Broadie
PRESS RELEASE:
Multi-ARIA nominated and CMC Music Award winning artist Jasmine Rae releasednew single last month, If He Calls – a tribute to the much loved singer/songwriter Karl Broadie, who sadly lost his battle with cancer last week.
Originally titled If She Calls, Karl wrote the song and recorded it on his mini-album One Constellation in 2011.
The revenue received by Jasmine and her label ABC Music for the single release of the track will go directly to Karl’s family support fund.
If He Calls was produced by ARIA and Golden Guitar winning producer Matt Fell, with Beau Golden on piano and mastering by Michael Carpenter. It follows Jasmine’s performance of the song at the recent ‘Concert For Karl’ tribute show in Sydney.
This special release is just a small part of a much broader and ongoing effort by the artistic community to celebrate Karl Broadie’s life and music, while assisting his family in their time of need.
If He Calls will also appear on an upcoming tribute album, celebrating Karl Broadie’s songs and featuring some of Australia’s most celebrated artists.
“I’m so proud to be one of the many artists celebrating Karl’s beautiful music and spirit. I hope we’ve done this song justice and it rings true to the incredible musicality and heart of its writer,” says Jasmine Rae.
