Izzi from The Preatures to appear on #MeToo Q&A special tonight
Late last year, during the swift rise of the #MeToo movement, Isabella Manfredi from The Preatures spoke out about the rampant sexual assault, abuse, and generally terrible behaviour within the music industry.
“There was the touchy feely US booking agent whose behaviour became so inappropriate that the boys told our manager to keep him away from me (I felt embarrassed to do this myself),” she wrote.
“Or the head honcho who, when meeting the band, looked me up and down and licked his lips before turning to the guys to shake hands and talk ‘business’ (we were all stunned).
“Or the multiple executives at a corporate gig in Vegas who slipped their hands up my dress while taking a photo with the band.”
Tonight, Manfredi will appear on a special episode of ABC’s popular Q&A about the #MeToo movement, to further discuss such matters.
The episode airs on ABC1 tonight at 9.01pm (‘cos that’s how the ABC does things) and will be hosted by Virginia Trioli.
Other guests include Josh Bornstein, Janet Albrechtsen, Catharine Lumby and — quite controversially — Charles Waterstreet.
