International mentors for Victoria’s SongHubs writing camp
US Grammy-winning R&B producer, writer and executive Warryn Campbell and Grammy-nominated Tommy Brown are two guests from the United States mentoring at the SongHubs writing camp in Victoria.
Campbell’s credits include Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Missy Elliott, while Brown is an Ariana Grande collaborator.
SongHubs is an initiative of APRA AMCOS and the state government’s art department Creative Victoria.
It is running for five days July 9-13 at producer Jan Skubiszewski’s picturesque Red Moon Studios in Gisborne, in regional Victoria.
“Anything can happen with five days of focus, collaboration and dedication in the studio,” Campbell said.
“I have high expectations for my first SongHubs and can’t wait to work with this dynamic group of Australian songwriters, producers and performers.”
Since its inception in 2013, more than 300 Australasian artists have worked with over 200 internationals across more than 40 SongHubs events.
SongHubs writing camps have taken place in India, USA, UK, Indonesia, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Greece, Australia and New Zealand, and over 500 new works have been created.
Commercial releases have since produced commercial releases for Troye Sivan, Client Liaison, Tkay Maidza, Nicole Millar, Guy Sebastian, SAFIA and Ecca Vandal.
It has resulted in over $1.3 million for APRA AMCOS’s collaborators in songwriting royalties to date.
