Indie-Con 2019 to explore new markets, algorithms & more
Insights into one of the fastest growing music markets in the world and ways to generate income from your masters are among the topics to take centre stage at Indie-Con 2019 next month.
The independent music industry conference returns to Adelaide July 25-56 at Lot Fourteen, and organisers AIR have just unveiled the 2019 conference program.
‘Insights Into China’ is a panel led by Alessandro Pavanello (Kanjian) and Lolly Fan (Artist Manager, Maybe Mars), who’ll chat the importance of connecting Australia to the fast-growing Chinese market.
‘Sync Outside The Box’ will see Graham Donald (Seven Network) will join Matthew Donlevy (Cooking Vinyl), Jen Taunton (Level Two Music), Rachel Kelly (Downtown Music Publishing) and Phillip Mortlock (ORiGiN Music) explore ways to generate income from your masters.
‘A Tech Health Check for Indies’ will see Entertainment One’s Bill Wilson journey from the US to join Jacqui Louez Schoorl (Jaxsta), Mick Tarbuk (Believe Digital) and Paige X. Cho (Bolster).
Other sessions will delve into playlisting and algorithms in ‘Lift The Lid On Steaming’, the ‘Anatomy Of What Makes A Good Deal’, the world of Esports and gaming and also the importance of protecting copyright.
Across the two-day conference, delegates will have the chance for one-on-one meetings with speakers, and all delegates also get free admission to mini Adelaide music festival SCOUTED at the conclusion of the conference.
AIR has also announced the performers for the AIR Awards, with B Wise, G Flip, Laura Jean, Mojo Juju and West Thebarton to play.
