Independent Chart Wrap: Marcus Marr & Chet Faker debut at #1

A new track sits atop the Carlton Dry Independent Singles chart this week as Marcus Marr & Chet Faker’s The Trouble With Us debuts at the top spot. This pushes Sia’s Alive down to #2 while Violent Soho set a trend of upward movement at #5 from #8 with Like Soda, their latest riff-filled hit.

Following the release of their debut album and receiving the triple j feature album spot, City Calm Down’s lead single Rabbit Run has seen a jump to #11 from #18, while Chet Faker’s Talk Is Cheap sees a move back up to #13 from #15. Vance Joy’s Mess Is Mine re-enters at #19.

AIR Radio Play

The same thing can be said about the #1 on the Radio Play chart as Mess Is Mine takes a top debut here as well. Elizabeth Rose makes a debut at #8 with Shoulda Coulda Woulda whilst Alpline’s Shot Fox takes a new peak at #9 from #17.

San Cisco’s Snowsits at #10 from #16 followed by Methyl Ethel’s Twilight Driving at #11 from #13.

Replacing them at #13 is a re-entry from Thirsty Merc’s The Good Life while Jess Kent’s Get Down debuts at #15 and Tiny Little Houses re-enter at #19 with Soon We Won’t Exist.

AIR Albums

Russell Morris’ Red Dirt Red Heart remains at #1 on the Albums chart this week following its debut a week ago as Courtney Barnett returns to #2 with Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit up from #4. She also earns a re-entry at #10 with The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas while Mathas marks the only debut at #14 with Armwrestling Atlas.
