Independent Chart Wrap: Flume and Ta-Ku debut high

The Carlton Dry Independent Singles chart sees a relatively quiet Top 5 this week with Hermitude’s The Buzz featuring Mataya & Young Tapz at #1 while Sia’s Big Girls Cry returns to #2 from #3. Hayden James’ Something About You moves back up to #13 from #18 while Flume & Chet Faker’s 2012trackDrop The Game sees a small jump to #16 from #20. Four re-entries make their way into the chart this week. Ta-Ku’s Love Again comes in at #10 while Japanese Wallpaper’s Forces featuring Airling sees a re-entry at #11. Chet Faker’s Gold re-enters at #17 followed by Flume’s Holdin’ On at #18.

The Radio Play chart sees Hermitude’s The Buzz featuring Mataya & Young Tapz take back #1 while Flume’s Some Minds featuring Andrew Wyatt makes itself a known contender with a #3 debut. Eves The Behaviour’s Electrical debuts at #5 followed by Chet Faker’s Bend at #7 and Loon Lake’s Just Now at #9. Two other debuts make their way just outside of the Top 10. At #13 is I Know Leopard’s Close My Eyes while Hermitude’s Searchlight featuring Yeo debuts at #20.

Seth Sentry and Hermitude hold the top of the Albums chart still with Strange New Past at #1 and Dark Night Sweet Light at #2. Ta-Ku sees a debut at #3 with Songs To Make Up To. Melbourne group Ocean Grove see their latest album Black Label debut at #6 while Saskwatch’s Sorry I Let It Come Between Us debuts at #7. The last new debut comes at #9 from Luna Grand’s Patience Love. Cosmic Psycho’s see a new peak for their latest album Cum The Raw Prawn which makes its way to #11 from #14 while The Smith Street Band sees a jump to #13 from #19 with Throw Me In The River.
