ORIGINAL STORY: The Global APRA Music Awards are set to recognise Australasian songwriters, composers and music publishers who achieve artistic excellence and commercial success in international markets.

APRA AMCOS has announced the details of the inaugural awards, taking place in LA, Nashville and London in 2020.

The nominees and categories for the first edition of the awards have been announced.

Some of those nominated across the three sets of awards include Grace Shaw (Mallrat), Ruel, Harley Stretten (Flume), Joel Little, Sarah Aarons, Rebecca Chilcott (Ruby Boots), Seaforth, Kaity Dunstan (Cloves) and more.

Four Global APRA Music Awards will be given out at each of the three ceremonies;

Nominations for awards including Breakthrough Songwriter and Overseas Recognition are based on key achievements throughout the calendar year, including album and single releases, charts performance and more.

“APRA AMCOS strives to be there for our members in their creative and professional endeavours every step of the way, wherever they are, and I so look forward to celebrating their talent, ambition and all that they have accomplished at these special events.”
