I Love Live Music launches
The inaugural I Love Live Music film competition is a new national initiative to focus on the importance of live music. It offers prizes for filmmakers and musicians who collaborate on a 60-second short film around three themes: ‘Imagine life without live Australian music’; ‘What I love about live Australian music’; or ‘What live Australian music means to me’. Applications opened this week and closes on April 1.
It is the brainchild of the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN), the Live Music Office and the St Kilda Film Festival.
The ten finalists will be screened at the festival’s SoundKILDA event (May 26) alongside international and Australian music videos. The winner is announced on the night.
St Kilda Film Festival Director Paul Harris says “The marriage of filmmakers and musicians is an important development in the evolution of both art forms.”
