Hub Artist Services partners with Yangaroo to digitally deliver music in ANZ

A new multi-year partnership between Sydney-based Hub Artist Services and North American digital media management and distribution company Yangaroo will see music from record labels and indie acts delivered to media outlets in Australia and New Zealand.

The new company, called Hub Digital Distribution, is initially for audio files only and was launched at BIGSOUND in Brisbane this week.

Hub Digital Distribution Director Paul Paoliello said, “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to bring a new service to the market.

“We’ve spoken to potential users in order to understand their needs and have complete confidence in the Yangaroo service to meet these needs.

“It is a service that is cost effective, user friendly and full of practical features – and critically Yangaroo resources and flexible approach means it is always evolving to meet market requirements.

“The fact that they were chosen to service partners like the Grammys reflects the calibre of their operations.

“We’re here on the ground, to make sure our clients’ needs are met, as well as grow opportunities for them.

“Our commitment is to continue to build innovative and valuable products and services for the local music ecosystem and our vision is the delivery of a network of services connecting artists into North American and Asian markets.”

Yangaroo’s patented Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) is focussed on the music and advertising industries.

It replaces the physical, satellite and closed network distribution and management of audio and video content, for music, music videos, and advertising to television, radio, media, retailers, and other authorised recipients.

The Yangaroo Awards platform is now the industry standard and powers most of North America’s major awards shows, including the Junos and Golden Globes.

Yangaroo’s SVP of Entertainment, Adam Hunt, says, “We are very pleased to partner with Hub Digital Distribution to provide the same workflow efficiencies in distributing music in the Australia and New Zealand markets as we currently do in Canada, the US, and Ireland.

“There is a savvy and well-connected team in place to lead this transition, with the potential to expand to services beyond audio delivery and to markets beyond Australia and New Zealand.”

Hub Digital Distribution is the latest division of Hub Artist Services, which includes artist management, record label and publishing.

In the last 12 months it has expanded operations internationally with a tie-up with Swedish management company The Kennel AB.

Paoliello, who ran the Sydney end of The Kennel, was Managing Director of Zomba Records in Australia in the ‘90s

He set up Big Records, and three years ago was International CEO for INXS manager Chris Murphy’s Petrol Records.

He was also among Australian-based executives who saw the potential in the new digital boom, setting up online operations such as What’s The Fuss and Dotter.
