5 Seconds of Summer’s Sounds Live Feels Live world tour grossed US$39 million, according to Billboard magazine. It was their second headlining tour, which covered four continents during an eight-month span in 2016.

The Sydney band topped the magazine’s latest Hot Tours tally, with the tour’s box office stats reported during the past week grossing $26 million.

Billboard reported, “Add that sum to grosses reported earlier this year and the tour wrapped with an overall box office take of $39 million from 743,906 sold seats at 102 performances.”

The world tour began on February 19 with 11 shows through Asia, starting in Nagoya in Japan and ending in Manila in the Philippines. Among cities played were Tokyo, Shanghai, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

The band then moved to Europe from April 5, taking in 34 cities in 15 countries. These included Sheffield, London, Glasgow, Vienna, Rome and Amsterdam, finishing off in Madrid on June 11.

The North American leg had 46 shows, taking in both major cities as Toronto, Montreal, New York City, Chicago and Nashville and smaller places.

The band wound up with four shows in Australia through Live Nation Australia. These were a sell-out on September 26 at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne (6,424), October 2 at Brisbane’s Riverstage (5,014) and two shows on October 4 and 5 at the Hordern Pavilion to 9497 fans.

The highest gross and attendance was at London’s O2 Arena, with $1.3 million in sales and a crowd tally of 25,408 on April 7 and 8.

The highest gross from a single performance was $838,378 at Manila’s SM Mall of Asia Arena on March 12.

Highest crowd figure for a single show was 13,887 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania on July 2.
